normal latin american hostel in a bad location

by gabriele v on 03 Dec 2012 (Friends Traveller)

It's not an amazing hostel....but average in south american where mostly are just big houses full of beds...... I presonally prefer to avoid the south american city centre which are dangerous and poor in nioghtlife at night....bsas city centre respect this tendency, the night hearth is located in palermneighborhood so that firulete location is just interesting for people who want to stay in the bedroom at night!

Needs a refurbishment and new bedding

We arrived early in B.A. and were looking for a Hostel in the Center. El Firulete was one of the few that had rooms available. The location is ok, but not outstanding. Many sights are closer when you stay in St Telmo or Palermo. The Microcenter is not a place to talk a walk at night. Our double room (with a queensize bed) was not big but ok for two people and some luggage, though it didn't have a private bathroom. The room was facing Maipu Avenue. The sanitary rooms on the 3rd floor (Mens) w...

by dan T on 13 Sep 2012 (Friends Traveller)

I've been in hostels in europe, mexico and now argentina, Firulete Hostel has everything you can ask... Cheap prices, decent breakfast, clean beds and bathroom, kind and helpfull staff (Gladis, on fornt desk) and a GREAT LOCATION. If I come back to Buenos Aires I'll come here to stay. Very Recomendable.

really good value for money

The day before I was scheduled to fly out of Buenos Aires, an unforeseen event kept me from making my flight. Being a bit low on cash, and not at all keen on using my credit card in a foreign country, I went to the El Firulete, and found it offer excellent value for money. The location, just a few blocks from the Casa Rosada, metro stations, and Starbucks is great if you want to explore Buenos Aires. I was happy with the cleanliness, comfort, and safety, and found that the staff went out of th...

Central, friendly with 24hr hot water !

by Jennifer M on 12 Aug 2012 (Friends Traveller)

This is a very friendly hostel and accommodating to our large group of 18. The hostel had real feel of warmth with the deep red walls, pictures and artwork throughout the building. The dorms were clean and well kept with plenty of space for all our big bags and masses of group kit. The breakfast included cereal, toast and delicious pastries along with an endless supply of teas and coffees. Gladys the receptionist was always around to help with booking transport and advising on the best place...
