Decent hotel accommodation in Mestre.
by Antonis Z on 19 Oct 2016 (Solo Traveller)
I stayed at Aurora for 3 nights. It's a hotel near the historic centre of Mestre. There are buses to take you from the Train Station and leave you just outside the Hotel. Also there are nearby bus and trams to take you to Venezia. Near the Hotel there are many nice restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. The room was clean although the bathroom had a broken mirror and shower head which didn't work properly. Some furniture also were rather worn out. In the night, a couple from a nearby room jus...

Easy to find (once you know your bearings). From mestre railway station if you have your back to mcdonalds restaurant you walk across the road taking the road signed via piave. It is about a 20 minute walk just go straight up until you come to a roundabout and turn right down past a small park area. You will eventually come to the hotel set back from the road near the bus stop on the left hand side of the road. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was small but had a private bathroom wit...

My Italian friend helped me to find this hote, cause hotels in Venice are more expensive. It was fun to get there, cause when I entered bus in Venice, I found out that nobody spoke English there :) I came to Mestre then and I found this hotel. Mestre is a nice place. I rented a room in this hotel. And it took me around 20 minutes (don't remember exactly) to get by bus from Venice station to the hotel. Buses ran all the night, so it was quite comfortable.

Spent one night in Hotel Aurora with my family. A very well located hotel in the middle of Mestre. Some shops and nice restaurants are right there in the corner. Room was not too spacious, to be honest it was bit small, but air conditioning worked very well. The Sri Lankan staff member was extremely great and helpful. Full points for him!
Good decision instead of staying on Venice island

Very clean hotel and the shower pressure is good. VERY helpful, friendly and genuine couple running the hotel. They not only recommend what to see but also more practical stuff like how and what kind of bus tickets to buy. The breakfast was very nice and fresh. The woman working in the cantine is super alert and always made sure that everything was in place. The hotel is located just behind the clock tower in the Mestre city centre. A walk to the tram takes about 5 minutes which takes you to th...
