Hotel Devdar , mussoorie

Visited the Devdar Woods hotels after a gap of over seven years. The decor of the hotel and rooms have slightly improved but facilities here still leave a lot to be desired. One of the chief reasons for staying here is the tranquility that one gets away from Mussourie in Landour. But we shelled out Rs 3600 for a triple-bed room for a right...which is not reasonable by any means...but the one of the most basic service like running water was missing from the room. I stayed at Devdar Hotel with two other friends for a night. We were given an independent cottage which is reached by outdoor stairs just at the entrance of the property. The location of the cottage is excellent, it has a fridge, bathroom, a double bed, and a bunk bed in a seperate room. You can pull out chairs and sit in a small verandah kind of open space just outside the cottage. Excellent location for those wanting an independent set up and privacy. eXtremely poor service. Worst for kids to ever go. No tv, no wifi, no 3G and no internet. They have bathrooms but no water, they have eggs but no bread and They have pizzas but tasteless cheese. They told us that we are giving you the best room no9 but it was actually their worst room. It is more like a servants quarter with insects and dirty beds. They have only one person to serve all 9 rooms they have. I made a mistake going because they told me that they have taken this property recently...

The place is almost 150 years old with old furniture s of that period...old piano..bed..etc ...I liked the valley facing compound the most wherein one can see the Snow flwt Himalayas...Beauty at its best...Great rooms...and the Food there....a lil costly but extremely great (CAUTION: Dnt try Indian cuisine)... Try their recommended food like Pizza...Pan Cake etc...they are awesome...

Nestled in the woods of Landour far from the monotony of Mussoorie is the Devdar Lodge. The sheer views will blow your breath away.. Add to that the affordable cottage rooms and wonderful food and you are in for a treat! The hot oven baked pizza are a must here and so are the pastas. make sure you devour them whole. close by is the Sister Bazaar where you will get Hot Pancakes!! Wondeful time
