Perfect location, friendly and comfortable
by jaynedee42 on 24 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)
Very pleasant hotel, very centrally located in the old city. The staff was extremely helpful in booking concert tickets and making restaurant recommendations. The room was comfortable and we particularly liked the refrigerator and coffee and tea facilities. The restaurant is excellent and breakfasts were great.
One of the BEST Hotels we have stayed in. HIGHLY RECOMMED!

Thank you to Hotel Goldgasse and the amazing women ( I am kicking myself i didnt get her name) at reception for making this an unforgetable trip. From the minute we arrived she welcomed us like we were her family and instantly we knew, we had found a little gem in Salzburg! She assited us in booking our sound of music tour ( Yes could feel my husbands pain and we ha da few good jokes about it) to even offering to go the chemist for us to pick up some medicine for our son.. that is service. Fro...
Hot and uncomfortable.
by Mark R on 12 Jan 2017
I travelled to the hotel with a friend for his 30th, staying in seperate rooms. At first look the rooms were large and spacious, decorated tastefully, with lots of nice books, beautiful teas to drink and a truely wonderful shower. After spending a night there were some flaws, the rooms are very warm, like a sauna/bikrim yoga hot. There are minor adjustments you can make but cannot turn off the heating, there is also no air conditioning. The bed was a large king, but with a single duvet, the ...
Lovely Hotel in great location

A quirky, lovely hotel in a fabulous location. The service was good, although lacked some of the finer finishes for a hotel of this standing (for example, no help with bags). Salzburg is an expensive city and this was not a cheap hotel. Relative to other hotels on our trip (in different cities) this hotel was not in the same league for the price, but we don't have any comparisons for Salzburg itself. The room was very large and comfortable, but not finished with the same details we had exper...
It's Gold for the Goldgasse!
by mikeyh00 on 06 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)
My wife and I spent a fabulous couple of days at Salzburg's Hotel Goldgasse. This small, boutique hotel is situated on a narrow, yet very pretty shopping street in the heart Salzburg's old town. The outer facade does little to give away the cornucopia of delights which await, when you climb the slender staircase to the first floor reception. It's here you'll discover - Frau Koller, the enigmatic receptionist. Frau Koller is a lady who exudes character, and after a tiresome Ryanair journey (most ...
