Best location in Saint Ctherine St.

by Parvin S on 05 Jan 2017 (Solo Traveller)

the good location in down town was my priority.I did not have any reservation in Hotel Vila, and the downtown of the city was crowded because of summer festival in Montreal.(at the beginning I stayed one night in an expensive booked hotel but I was not satisfied ). I stayed in the hotel Vila and extended one more night, It is not modern one but the room was clean. The hotel gave me coupon for breakfast to have in a very close to the hotel. Nearest Parking is available in Complex Desjardins Shop...

Dirty and overpriced.

by Milan J on 04 Jan 2017 (Friends Traveller)

Towels were full of hair, even when we asked for new ones those were full of hair too. Pillows and sheets also. After we complained about the hair to the front desk, they were impolite and told us we are the only one who complain. We were unable to open the window as it was taped with a duct tape. There was cold air coming through it (we visited in December). Rooms are way smaller then what they look like in the pictures. They also smell weird. There was rust rust in the bath and shower curt...

Cheap place to stay at the heart of montreal

by LauritaVT on 06 Oct 2016 (Couple Traveller)

Nothing fancy about this place- simple, somewhat clean, basic, and located in an excellent location near restaurants, bars, old town, and museums. There is no parking here and you will have to pay for parking at the underground lot of the mall about three blocks away. This hotel has a cute 2 star Lobby and an awesome waffle cafe attached where we ate breakfast every morning. The lift was a bit scary so we avoided it as much as possible. Room was small and came with a basic double bed, small desk...

Treat the front street-facing rooms like the bubonic plague: to be avoided at all costs

by Victorianlad on 23 Sep 2016 (Solo Traveller)

I had two separate bookings at Villa Hotel, so was able to experience two different rooms: 302 and 512. Despite the best efforts of jovial night manager Francis whose stock-in-trade joke was to state that the C$5 key deposit was 'not for his lunch', the first room I had faced Rue Sainte-Catherine and gave me not just 'exposure' to noisy patrons of the next door nightclub queuing for some special group appearing from 2000 hours that night, but also gave me the dubious 'pleasure' of hearing biker...

Basic, clean but noisy as hell

by Sam J on 10 Sep 2016 (Couple Traveller)

We booked a double room with shared bathroom. We are travelling across Canada over the month and so our accommodation is booked on price location and cleanliness. There were reviews re bed bugs... But we so no sign at all. In fact the rooms and beds were changed daily by the maid service, towels replenished - great service. We were offered an upgrade to private bedroom/bathroom at check in which we took as we needed to do washing etc. Glad we did, the air con is a basic loud unit but it work...
