No AC and Tired Rooms BUT Great Staff

by mitch121 on 26 Jan 2017

Having stayed at Mercure Nottingham in the past which was of high standard and qaulity, this place fell short of the mark, its borderline of a 3 star hotel. The alarms bells for me started ringing when I noticed the doors of the rooms where quite narrow as I approached my room. And this is generally a good indicator that rooms are going to be small or something is wrong with the rooms. The double bed was too big for the room, you just about had room to squeeze past the end of the bed and the TV ...

We got this hotel on a deal would have been disappointed if we paid full price purely on the room everything else was good. The hotel is in a good central location.reception is bright spacious and clean. Staff very obliging and friendly Our bedroom was a bit small for a double .there were chunks out the wall and the sink was cracked .the radiator made knocking noises all night .The bed was comfortable although the temperature in the room was too hot and the radiator wouldnt turn down .Breakfas...

Great for what we needed

by mcinass on 19 Jan 2017

We were looking for a hotel in the city for overnight. This hotel was an ideal location. I would say the room was on the small side which wasn't really a problem to us but maybe to others it would be. The beds were very comfortable and the linen, towels etc good quality. Every one of the staff we came into contact were pleasant and helpful. Our room faced out on to an alley way which probably reduced the noise from the main street which was great. Breakfast was ideal, good choice of fresh fruit,...

Short but Sweet

by Quinnbar on 16 Jan 2017 (Solo Traveller)

Very well positioned to enjoy the sights of Glasgow. Within walking distance of most everywhere I needed to get friendly staff. Rooms need a little attention especially the bathrooms and decor but one of the best showers in any hotel I've used. Will be back again and recommend to friends and work colleges to use.

Decent place, warm room, very quiet compared to other hotels in the area, like the tunnocks decorated place. Good cooked breakfast. Polite helpful staff. Front looks smart and modern, but actual hotel and rooms is a little tired and could do with modernisation. Heating was noisy, but only for 5 minutes as it cooled down. Would stay here again.
