Friendly staff, but everything else...
by johnw60763 on 01 Feb 2015 (Friends Traveller)
Friendly staff, but that is about it... Now let me list the negatives: * We booked for 1 night, but ended up staying 2 nights. 1st night was paid by credit card. For the 2nd night extension, the clerk all the sudden said if we paid by credit card, there will be a 15% surcharge! Then asked us for cash for 2 nights stay, on top of what we already paid for the first night. Their operation is not computerized, so it took them to look through handwritten records to correct this... * No staff spe...
Depends on how you are traveling

Due to the recommendation of Lonely Planet I stayed two nights in this hotel in a single room and i think it's not the worst choice in Salta but definitly it's not that nice as it is described in the LP. The location is not bad (three or four blocks from the plaza). The rooms are clean but mine was very small. I saw a double room which seemed much more comfortable, amply and nice. You should definitly ask for a room that hasn't a window to the very noisy and busy street in front of the hotel. Th...
Not as described in the guidebook
by Gnu1 on 08 May 2012 (Couple Traveller)
This hotel unfortunately is not as it was described in the guidebook. It makes a decent impression when you enter. The reception area / dining area is fine. The breakfast is also ok. However, the rooms are not nice at all. The bed/ mattress was in a terrible condition with one side sagging down. We also had a couple of roaches in the room. Yes, it is not expensive but we decided to change hotel within Salta because we really didn't like this one. We were under the impression that the hotel staf...
Disappointed after reading favourable reviews in guidebooks
by LostMyWander on 25 Nov 2011 (Family Traveller)
The location is quite good. The service was average. There were two beds in our room and both were narrow and broken. The hostel was noisy, especially early in the morning with a raucous tour group breakfasting and checking out early, waking our sleeping baby. Soon after this people in adjoining rooms started moving furniture around (I wondered if it was the cleaners who had swung into action) - still only around 8.30am, which is early in Argentina. The breakfast was mediocre and when I wen...
Handy Location, Mediocre Hotel
by thebusybees on 03 Nov 2011
We did end up staying here for 4 nights but mostly because we couldn't be bothered to move. On the positive side, the location is very near to the square and easy to find from the bus station, just directly down San Martin. Staff were okay, though no English at all. Fair enough, it's a Spanish speaking country. Breakfast was the usual variety of dry white breads and sweets, sugar cereal, thin yogurt and coffee/tea On the negative, the rooms are just barely okay. The worst were badly stained pil...
