it's not an hotel!

by Rachou38 on 03 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)

The room is not very clean, the furniture are obsolete or broken. The bath towel are very old with spots. For the single room is like you sleep in a storage cabinet. We can not say it's an hotel because nobody will clean your room during your stay neither make the bed. It's very expensive for the service. The only good thing, it's the location, you have a subway really close and a lot of Chinese restaurants close to the hotel.

Worst Hotel

by Vickie A on 18 Dec 2016

My agent booked this hostel for me at the end of May this year but I only spent a few hours there when I realised that I had to share two toilets and two bathroom with about 30 people or more on my floor. The room was not very clean (dirty sheet and pillow case) and the fan was not working at all. My luggages had to compete for space with the dustbin placed in the room. The receptionist that attended to me on arrival was quite pleasant but the guy that took over in the morning was not pleasan...

Basic but with a smile

by Fran S on 15 Nov 2016 (Solo Traveller)

Some people have unfairly reviewed this place as they expected more comforts and luxuries than is appropriate for this price and location. The important thing is that this hotel is kept very clean. Staff are helpful and friendly. They do everything they can. You only have to compare the price of this with other hotels in New York--and you will know what to expect. Considering that crappy two-star hotels in this city are upwards of $200 a night. Expect basic basic basic. It's a backpacker ki...

Cheapest Digs in NYC

by rafesq on 09 Nov 2016 (Solo Traveller)

NYC can be incredible expensive - especially for hotels. For 3 nights I booked the World Hotel in Chinatown - it is on The Bowery near Canal Street - but not so close to a subway. The room was tiny - 1-2 feet larger than the bed on two sides, no windows and no bathroom. It was very clean and quite. The two bathrooms down the hall were also clean -never had a problem using them. The room had a flat screen TV, a fan, a night table and some hooks with three hangers. There was no desk, no chair - ju...

You Get What You Paid For

by 89122 on 03 Oct 2016 (Friends Traveller)

This hotel is inexpensive compared to most and when you arrive, it is apparent why. There are only stairs, very steep stairs, to get to the lobby and your room. The bed took most of the room; however, it was clean. You have your choice to book your room with a shared bathroom (cheaper) or with your own private bathroom, I chose the private one. The hotel is in Chinatown, one block away from Little Italy and the subway. With the price you pay, don't expect much.
