The country had the world’s strictest and longest-running travel bans, which came to an end yesterday, i.e., 1st August. With this, student, visitor and work visa applications are now open.

Most travellers entering New Zealand, however, must meet the vaccination requirements. They need to carry a digital vaccination certificate or another form of electronic or paper document certifying that they are vaccinated against the virus. Among the vaccines approved in the country are Covishield, Covaxin, Sputnik V, Pfizer and Corebax.

Visitors also need to take two Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) post-arrival. These tests must be completed on the day they arrive in the country and on Day 5 or 6. If a person tests positive, they will have to undergo a PCR test to confirm the result. In case the PCR test comes out positive, they will need to self-isolate for seven days.

This rule applies to passengers travelling to New Zealand for vacation or work, as well as citizens or residents returning home.

There are, however, no quarantine restrictions for the travellers.
