No frills hotel

by redboy1979 on 08 Jan 2017 (Solo Traveller)

If you are looking for a low cost hotel with no frills that does exactly what it says on the tin then this is the place for you. It's a bit out of town but the bus routes are excellent with various services covering all areas of the city as well as a night bus. My biggest problem was the wifi, it doesn't bother me if there is a bad connection in a hotel but I have to say that it bothered me that I had to pay for it. Okay, it's only £3 but I think it is unnecessary in 2017!! The rooms are not the...

Expensive for the service

by luciapertile on 07 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

The exterior is lovely. Great location for us. Good private parking. Very quiet location. But the words of the room were like paper and we could hear all from the other rooms and the hall. But The room super out of date! The carpet was dirty, with stains every way. The window do not close properly. The room has a commune balcony that was dirty, with nothing to seat or enjoy. The bathroom awful, very old, dirty, with mold stains on the tile. We stay for 5 night and did not clean even once. Not...

Dirty hotel, rude and arrogant manager which ruins your Edinburgh experience so avoid !!!!!

by Anil S on 02 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)

This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I'm a firm believer that you pay for what you get however my stay in this hotel was far worse than what I expected. They run their hot water on a timing system so if you jump in the shower outside of their timing you will end up having a shower in cold water. When I asked the manager 'why they ran their hot water on such a timing system' I was told this is how they do it so it was my fault for having the shower at the wrong time and I was f...

Edinburgh Visit

by Maz M on 17 Dec 2016 (Friends Traveller)

A basic hotel within walking distance of the city centre (15 mins). The rooms are simple but do have ensuite shower & toilet, TV and coffee/tea making facilities. The beds are firm and comfortable & the room was a very pleasant temperature. There is WiFi available at £3 for the whole length of your stay, but is quite slow & temperamental at times. If you are looking for a very reasonably priced hotel close to the Heart of Edinburgh & don't expect a 5 star experience, you won't be disappointed. G...

Cheap but noisy and plain

by Arwin N on 14 Dec 2016 (Friends Traveller)

This hotel is undeniably an affordable place to rest while visiting Edinburgh. It's close to a bus stop and taking a bus to the city centre is really easy. However, the room I got was facing the roadside and it was terrible. I could hear sirens from police cars or ambulances passing by every now and then, at the very least, you could hear the cars passing by. Also, the toilet lacked hooks or trays to put soap and etc .. especially in the shower. If you're fine with the noise (the main prob...
