I have used this Hotel & its Restaurant for over 30 years and it has had a chequered past, particularly the food! First time back in years

by valerie1953 on 16 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)

Used to be a favourite place of ours until it went downhill badly. However saw some good reviews lately and booked for our daughters birthday. On booking was told it was now Il Capo an Italian menu. It was very quiet on Sunday but we had a nice booth in bar and had a nice family meal. Staff were all friendly and food was good and fresh though bit of a wait for starters to arrive. Would return although as previous post says there are so many Italian places to chose from in the area.

Change not for their better

Used to love this place for great home cooking now gone ITALIAN! Like we need Another!!! Italian restaurant in area. Had a late lunch here today and wouldn't rate it. If you want Italian then go else where. Management why could you not have left this well established and loved hotel to carry on with traditional home cooking????. Name is also linked to local pub Capos which used to b a late night den. .

Reasonable priced lunch
