Excellent Riad, beautiful hidden gem

by PatrickAtYork on 17 Oct 2016 (Couple Traveller)

Hidden away in a back street 5-10 minutes from the main square this surprisingly quiet Riad is an excellent retreat from the bustling streets. The first time you try to find it you _will_ need to either need luck or local knowledge, (see photo of view from outside, hint: turn right down the alley with the ISIS spa). The Riad happily arranges transfers from the airport however bear in mind that if you arrive in the evening the taxi won't be able to drive into the square and will likely refer you...

A beautiful oasis in the heart of the madness

by robert c on 22 Sep 2016 (Couple Traveller)

Stunning little riad right in the middle of the action. You are a stones throw from the main market square yet our room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop! The rooms were beautifully done out in a traditional style and had air con which was much needed. The staff were lovely but didn't speak much English (we spoke broken French and got by fine) and they made us a lovely continental breakfast each day. The hot tub on the roof was a nice touch - take a bottle of champagne / wine from duty free...

Amazing stay at Maipa

by tricky75 on 20 Aug 2015 (Couple Traveller)

We spent two nights there in May 2015 and had a wonderful stay. The top floor room was great and since the Riad wasn't too crowded we pretty much had the whole top floor area to ourselves. The local staff is so nice and helpful, they really make you feel you are staying at a genuine local spot. We found the place to be a real deal compared to what we paid at more luxurious place. The Riad is gorgeous and serene. Small drawback, while it's a 3min walk to the main square it is to be noted that ...

Marrakech Oasis

by GregCutler on 08 Nov 2014 (Solo Traveller)

You cross the snake charmers & acrobats in Jamaa el Fna, wander through the crazy hustle & bustle of the souks in the Marrakech madina, then duck in a side alley, pass a traditional wood-fired oven bakery and under an arch... and arrive at Riad Maipa. Centrally tucked in the heart of Marrakech, the riad is a peaceful oasis just steps away from the chaos that is the medina. Quiet, friendly, ornate, exotic. Mint tea under the orange tree in the courtyard. Birds chirping with a faint wisp of calls...

Beautifull decor, good location, but little hot water.

by Ole K on 19 Apr 2014 (Friends Traveller)

This is a very nice experince. We stayed several nights and found it a beautifull decorated Riad, well established and a very friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent with good choise of food. Rooms very nice, but the shower was close to not working, very litte water and not enough hot water. 5 rooms and French owned. Location very central, Will in spite of this recommend it for future stay. If you book it, call the owner directly and get a good price. We were picked up by a taxi at the train st...
