Fabulous food

by Octopus-Fan on 27 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

We went here for dinner during our stay in Mysore and we had a great evening. Our waiter, Nagabhushan, was a star and the food was delicious. We definitely recommend eating at the Royal Orchid Metropole.

Olden Charm

by chuckatbigsky on 24 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

A hotel with atmosphere. Great location in central city with parking. Rooms are comfortable, if not overly large. Stay on backside if you can for less noise. Each room has ample balcony. Restaurant is quite good--outdoors with tandoori menu. Only downside was espresso machine which always seemed broken.

Elegant retreat close to major sites

by merry655 on 24 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

Lovely heritage hotel in the former Maharajah's guest house. Beautifully restored and comfortable with a gorgeous outdoor dining room with twinkling lights in the trees in the inner courtyard. The food from the barbecue was excellent, and the service warm and friendly. We would certainly stay here again.

We were shown to room 107. If you get the choice ask to be in this room. Beautiful 4 poster bed, a huge balcony with a view of the swimming pool, 3 seater sofa, teak writing desk and a huge bathroom. There is free wifi at ...

Raj-era elegance, lovingly restored

by mpeterso on 21 Jan 2017 (Couple Traveller)

The Royal Orchid Metropole was once the Maharajah's guest house for foreign visitors. It has been restored to its old elegance, with teak and rosewood, and the result is an ambience of quiet perfection, an oasis in the midst of busy Mysore. Our room was amazingly spacious, with a wrap-around balcony that was my favorite place simply to be. Breakfast and lunch buffets are excellent, but dinner in the courtyard, under an old mango tree, lit by candles and distant lanterns was magical.
