Fantastic (and loud) location, parking

by June_Boys on 18 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)

Boy did we luck out! I'd done my research and kept coming across positive reviews of this place so we took a chance. Best decision! This hotel with its free parking is in an absolutely dynamic location -- canNOT be beat if you are a tourist to San Francisco. It is on the border of Chinatown and North Beach -- walk down the street and look right, there's the Transamerica Pyramid, look left and you can easily walk over to Fisherman's Wharf and Ghiradelli Square (and Pier 39). We also walked to Uni...

In S.F. during the big winter storm

by Richie on 13 Jan 2017 (Family Traveller)

Stayed here 3 nights during the big storm of January. Went through 2 umbrellas. Not my first choice (the Royal P. is about a 2 star), but there was a huge convention in town so everything else was booked or charging 5X the going rate, so here we are. The hotel is right out of the 1950's and hasn't changed much. Even the T.V.'s are old. They are color TV's, but that's about it. Don't be looking for HBO or the business channel. The 1st night there was no hot water, they blamed it on the storm. ...

Borders Both Chinatown & North Beach

by Melanie J on 07 Nov 2016 (Family Traveller)

The location can't be beat for exploring SF's Chinatown and "Little Italy" North Beach neighborhoods, plus there is a small parking lot reserved for hotel guests which I consider a gem to find! Yes, the room decor is a bit tired, but our room was clean and comfortable. If you're a light sleeper I would recommend reserving a room that does not face Broadway, but if you prefer a view of Coit Tower definitely take a room facing Broadway. A side note: upon checking in the clerk stressed the hotel's...

Right in Chinatown

by Derelict on 04 Nov 2016 (Family Traveller)

Been looking forward to y trip. Managed to get this hotel right in Chinatown. Arrived late in the evening and was given an upgrade to a junior suite. Nothing fancy, just that it has an additional sitting area with sofa which we didn't really used. Room was clean and decent. Luckily there were elevators so we didn't had to lug our 3 heavy luggages up the stairs. Location is good. Eateries all around. Can walk to Union Square, although might take a while. Key selling point here is FREE parking ...

Paying for location

by ZA_world on 21 Oct 2016 (Couple Traveller)

A shabby remnant of what must have been a fabulous motel in its heyday, Royal Pacific's strength is in its location, in between Chinatown and the Italian District and walking distance from Fisherman's Wharf and Union Square. Big rooms and quite clean, but very poor and intermittent wifi, which made daily itinerary planning a challenge.
