Tijara Beach

by Pjninkenya2016 on 02 Jan 2017 (Solo Traveller)

This is a really wonderful place. The rooms are excellent and the views are magnificent. A gentle sea breeze takes away the heat of the day. If you enjoy seafood and like a quiet, secluded spot with beautiful gardens, then this is the place for you. Get away from the hustle and bustle, read some books, snorkel or potter about the private beach. The staff are so friendly and it's close enough to Mombasa Old Town if you want to do some shopping.

An oasis of tranquility and natural beauty

by Anthony E on 01 Dec 2016 (Family Traveller)

I really can't describe what a wonderful stay we had at Tijara House. It was my parents first visit to the African continent (I've been living in Kenya for about a year) and they were overwhelmed by the peacefulness, natural beauty and wonderful weather. Ian and his staff were courteous, helpful and kind and ensured every day was blissful. The swimming pool is possibly one of the most delightful spots in the whole grounds. Bougainvillaea petals float on the water, you can hear the faint roar...

Total relaxation in a beautiful setting

by Clive S on 27 Aug 2016 (Family Traveller)

I have not added any photos, because if you look here in trip advisor, the photos don't lie. It's better than it looks. This a 4 villa boutique hotel on large manicured grounds overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean. Food is delicious and home cooked by an on site chef. You can ask for what you want, it will be delivered. Ian the host and owner comes to see you at meal times to make sure you are getting what you want, so not a moment goes by when you can change your choice. If you want to comple...

Tijara Beach - A Little Bit of Paradise

by Joanna L on 18 Jun 2016 (Couple Traveller)

What a stunning place to head to after eight days moving around Lake Bogoria and then on safari in the Mara. It is a little piece of paradise and has an exclusive feel with only four cottages set in beautiful grounds and direct access to its beach. We were picked up from Diani Beach airstrip (coming from Wilson airport, sit on the left for views of Mount Kilimanjaro!). Walking into Tijara Beach, we instantly exhaled and felt relaxed and cocooned from the outside world. The cottage is beautiful...

Tijara, a pearl on the Indian Ocean

by Lucie M on 17 May 2016 (Family Traveller)

After a short flight with no problem, you leave the road forgetting about your hectic life, traffic and worries to turn into the bush where only a few native look at you driving through and at the last turn, coming from nowhere, you have the ocean at your feet. Only the noise from the sea comes to bother you. The gardens full of exotic trees and plants are just stunning. The welcome and the service are perfect, the staff is constantly smiling. The various meals are served without any notion of l...
