Festivals Around the World in June

Gawai Dayak Festival

 

A harvest festival celebrated by the indigenous people of Malaysia, particularly the Ibans and Bidayuhs, in their traditional costumes. The festival this year will be held from June 1-2. Ceremonial offerings of various local traditional delicacies and tuak (homemade rice wine) are made to the gods of rice and prosperity. This unique festival is a must-visit for local and foreign tourists alike.

Czech Beer Festival

 

It’s the largest gastronomic event in Czech and will be held until June 2. During the festival, 70 different beers are available to sample, from a selection of Czech breweries. Servers are dressed in traditional Czech folk costumes and there are live bands to entertain revellers.

Galway Arts Festival

 

Galway hosts Ireland’s leading international Arts Festival where theatre, dance, visual arts and music are all on the agenda. It will be held from July 16- 29. Artists and musicians from home and abroad converge for an eclectic range of intimate and large-scale events around the winding medieval streets of Galway city.
