Free Entry to All ASI-Protected Monuments from Today

Time to rejoice, travellers!

India is celebrating its 75th year of Independence this August. And to commemorate these 75 magnificent years, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has announced that entry to all centrally-protected monuments will be free from 5th to 15th August.

This is a part of the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” initiative. There are currently a total of 3,793 ASI-protected sites across India. The Red Fort, Taj Mahal, Sun Temple and Ajanta Caves are some of the monuments one can visit during this time period. 

The Union Minister for Culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern Region, G. Kishan Reddy took to Twitter to share this happy news with the public.
