Railway Announces 70+ Festival Special Trains; Connectivity boost in Northeast

To clear the extra rush of passengers ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi 2021, Central Railways will run 72 special festive trains.

These additional special trains will provide ease of transportation to the devotees attending the Ganpati festival as well as to the general passengers.

Here’s the complete list of Ganesh Chaturthi special trains 2021:

1) CSMT-Sawantwadi Road Daily Special (36 trips)

Train no.01227 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Sawantwadi Road will leave daily at 12:20 AM from 5th September to 22nd September.

Train no.01228 Sawantwadi Road-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus will run daily at 02:40 PM from 5th September to 22nd September.

Halts: Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chilpun, Sawarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Nandgaon Road, Sindhudurg and Kudal.

2) CSMT-Ratnagiri Bi-weekly Special (10 trips)

Train no.01229 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Ratnagiri bi-weekly will run every Monday and Friday at 01:10 PM from 6th September to 20th September.

Train no.01230 Ratnagiri-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus bi-weekly will run every Sunday and Thursday at 11:30 PM from 9th September to 23rd September.

Halts: Dadar, Thane (only for train no.01229), Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chilpun, Sawarda, Aravali Road and Sangameshwar Road.


3) Panvel-Sawantwadi Road Tri-weekly Special (16 trips)

Train no.01231 Panvel-Sawantwadi Road tri-weekly will leave every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at 8:00 AM from 7th September to 22nd September.

Train no.01232 Sawantwadi Road-Panvel tri-weekly will leave every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at 8:45 PM from 7th September to 22nd September.

Halts: Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chilpun, Sawarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Nandgaon Road, Sindhudurg and Kudal.


4) Panvel-Ratnagiri Bi-weekly Special (10 trips)

Train no.01233 Panvel-Ratnagiri bi-weekly will run every Thursday and Sunday at 8:00 AM every Thursday and Sunday from  9th September to 23rd September.

Train no.01234 Ratnagiri-Panvel bi-weekly will run every Monday and Friday at 11:30 PM every Monday and Friday from 6th September to 20th September.

HaltsRoha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chilpun, Sawarda, Aravali Road and Sangameshwar Road.

Composition of all these special trains: 1 AC-2 Tier cum AC-3Tier, 4 AC-3 Tier, 11 Sleeper Class, 6 second class seating.

Historic moment! Manipur debuts on the Rail Map of India

Now travelling to and from Manipur will become easier as the state has made its debut on the map of Indian Railways. The trial run of a passenger train from Silchar in Assam to Vangaichungpao in the Tamenglong district of Manipur was recently completed successfully.

North Eastern Railways will run Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Ghazipur City weekly special from 15th July.

All coaches will be of reserved class and passengers will have to follow all COVID-19 norms.
