Had stayed at this property recently for a couple of days . The overall ambience was really good with the greenery surrounding the property.The monsoon rains made the stay more pleasant.The rooms are spacious with good views . Cleanliness could have been a bit better . Staff were really helpful & supportive .Ample parking space is available.Gym and Swimming pool facilities are also available .Food was good with multiple options available in both veg & non veg .Mr.Asim & Mr.Apu were quite helpful during the whole check in process .

We stayed here for a day during our visit to Gir National Park, and overall it was a very good experience.The biggest highlight is the location ’ the resort is just about 600 meters from the Safari booking center, which makes it extremely convenient. They also offered to arrange us a safari gypsy to pick us up directly from the hotel and take us to the ticket center, for Rs 100 extra - this is great if you don’t have your own car.The resort has a cozy boutique-hotel feel with a nice forest ambience. The swimming pool was large and thoughtfully positioned with morning shade, making it perfect for children to enjoy comfortably. Service throughout the stay was excellent ’ very proactive and quick whenever we needed anything.The breakfast spread was limited, but everything served was fresh and tasty, especially the puri and aloo paratha. Another thoughtful touch was the extra bed they arranged for us. Since we were 3 adults and 2 children, they proactively checked with us and provided a proper comfortable single cot with mattress, sheets, and blanket.The rooms and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. However, one area that could improve is housekeeping around the corridors. We often noticed used plates left outside rooms for long periods, which may be attracting lizards ’ one even entered our room during the stay. Also, there is no lift, so it may not be ideal for elderly guests or anyone who has difficulty climbing stairs.The restaurant food also seemed quite expensive compared to nearby options, so we didn’t dine there apart from breakfast.Overall, it was a pleasant, customer-focused stay with a great location and warm service. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting Gir.

As someone who has travelled to over 40 countries and experienced numerous 5-star properties across the globe, my stay at Gir Serai by IHCL SeleQtions was truly memorable in its own unique way.Originally a government guest house, this property has been thoughtfully transformed into a charming luxury retreat under the Indian Hotels Company Limited. While it may not follow the conventional blueprint of a modern 5-star hotel, what it offers instead is something far more special,, warmth, authenticity and heartfelt hospitality.The food was exceptional, the service impeccable, and the overall experience incredibly comforting. A special mention goes to one of the staff members, ’Apu’ the man, whose attentiveness and genuine care made the stay even more delightful truly outstanding.If you’re seeking a cozy, comfortable stay surrounded by nature, this is absolutely the place to be. Gir Serai isn’t about opulence, it’s about experience, and it delivers that beautifully.

We recently had the chance to stay in Gir Serai for a safari experience for a night.I would summarise my stay in two parts highlighting both the goods and the improvement areas :Areas to improve after reading which the guests can decide themselves to opt for this stay:1. Room decor needs some improvement as it does not reflect a Taj property from the room quality. Basic beds, net or jaali doors are quite outdated, basic walls and the list is endless.2. Complimentary High tea needs to have better eating options- do not expect just one hot dish of thick pakodas. Management must introduce some family entertainment options with high tea such as Tambola, live singing, etc to engage the in house guests.3. Introduce more entertainment options during the day with minimal activities of cycling and pottery. Since it is a thick jungle so one gets bored during the day after the morning safari and really cannot go out anywhere, depending mostly on hotel’s entertainment.Good areas1. The special 45 minute tribal dance is a treat for the guests as they engaged us to the love dancing and helps the children to learn more about tribal people and their dancing patterns.2. The entire staff at Gir Serai was very warm and quick to cater to our needs. Especially the restaurant staff was kind enough to pack lunch for the kids of the family once we were leaving for a long car journey back home.3. Special shout out to Appu at the restaurant who has a magical voice and must try for some singing talent show. Though the sad part was that he took over to the guests karaoke entertainment very late in the night. He should be promoted from the management side to take over the guests entertainment for live singing. His voice will retain the guests for more period of time in the restaurant.

Not to be missed. Incredible staff. Great rooms. Spectacular food (both veg and non-veg). Located right next to the entrance to the Park and best choice for Devalia gypsy experience in particular. After you book your permits on the government site, work with the hotel to arrange the rest of the fees and arrange easy pickup.
