Hotel Wayanad Stay

The stay was very disappointing. While the property itself is nice, the management was quite poor. On the very first day, we noticed ants everywhere in the room, even on the walls. When we asked for cleaning, the manager/owner said it was not possible due to a shortage of staff. We requested a room change, but he claimed all rooms were full, even though it was obvious that some were available. He was unsupportive, so we had to clean the room ourselves. Additionally, there were frequent power outages, about 15–20 times during our stay. Every time we turned on the TV and got comfortable, the electricity would cut out, forcing us to start over. The property has good potential, but the poor management and lack of basic guest assistance completely spoiled our experience.

The service was good and the owner was friendly.

We had to stay here because no other rooms were free. They increased the room price when we arrived. Initially, they quoted a normal price, but changed it once we got there. The receptionist seemed lazy and drunk and didn’t want to show us the room. One room we checked was dirty and had been used by someone else, so all four of us had to squeeze into one room. Even after paying for an extra bed, he refused to provide bedsheets and blankets, acting like it was too much trouble to get them from the storeroom upstairs. Although no rooms were available, they kept calling everyone who had inquired by phone. Some families waited in the parking lot hoping for rooms, but in the end, they were turned away.

I had a wonderful time at Hotel Wayanad Stay; from my experience, there were no issues, and all the hotel staff and other employees were very kind.
