On 26 May 2026, I visited Darjeeling, Sikkim with my daughter and granddaughter with Vayudoot Travels. We stayed at Jain Group Royal Orchid Hotel. Due to a faucet leakage in the bathroom, water was spreading all over the floor. Being a senior citizen, I was at risk of slipping. I informed housekeeping staff about it. One young man brought about seven or eight towels and spread them on the floor to prevent water spread. The next morning, the geyser was not providing hot water. I bathed with cold water, but the children could not. This issue was not unique to me; at least six to seven others faced the same problem. My room number was 406. Rooms 404 and 001 had the same complaint. We were told to call a plumber and get it fixed. But I told the owner of Vayudoot about everything. That same night, the hotel staff sent a photograph of the towels spread in the bathroom and a voice message from a staff member to the owners, accusing me of spreading filth by spreading those towels.
