Lake Nahargarh Palace - A Justa Resort

Originally built as a royal hunting lodge for the Salumber and Parsoli families, this estate has been transformed into a luxury heritage hotel. Nestled in the peaceful village of Parsoli and surrounded by the Aravalli Hills, the private property owned by Mr. Gajendra Singh Rathore combines traditional Rajput architecture with a unique island location. The estate itself is stunning, located in the middle of a tranquil lake with beautiful scenery all around. Reaching the palace by a brief boat ride adds a special charm to the arrival experience. However, a serious concern is the total absence of safety measures during the boat transfer. Guests are not provided with life jackets or flotation devices, which are essential for any water transport. The hotel charges a mandatory ₹750 per person entry fee that includes the boat ride and pool access, regardless of whether guests use the pool. Despite this fee, the amenities are lacking: there are no swimming costumes available and no lockers to secure personal items. Lighting is poorly managed, with the two bathrooms kept dark during the day unless guests specifically request the lights be turned on. Safety is also an issue at the pool, which is about 5 feet deep and has no lifebuoy, making it unsafe for children to swim alone. On the positive side, the pool is very clean and swimming while enjoying the lake view is a pleasant experience. Regarding dining and hospitality, although the food tastes good, the restaurant management feels unprofessional for a high-end property. Menus are simply black-and-white printed sheets without clear veg or non-veg labels. Prices are extremely high, with a basic cup of milk tea costing ₹395 plus GST. Payment was requested in cash for the restaurant bill, with no explanation given. Service at the front desk was poor; the receptionist was arrogant and dismissive. We were not offered welcome drinks on arrival, unlike other guests, and when we mentioned this, the staff replied dismissively that we should have asked. The architecture and lake views make this a place with great potential, but serious safety oversights, rude staff, overpriced food, and poor facility management reduce what could be a luxurious royal retreat to an average stay. The hotel urgently needs to improve basic hospitality and courtesy.
