Rumuk Boutique Resort (Offbeat Escape)

Our stay at Rumuk Hotel was quite disappointing. From the location and room condition to maintenance and food, several issues made our visit less comfortable than we had hoped. The location was surprising and confusing, as it didn’t seem like a suitable or pleasant place for a hotel. The surroundings felt unwelcoming, which was not what we expected. The room’s condition was another problem. It seemed poorly maintained and not very clean. The curtains had a bad smell that was noticeable right away, making the room feel less fresh. Cleanliness and freshness should be basic priorities for a hotel room. The bathroom was very small and uncomfortable. The toilet seat was loose and wobbled when used, a maintenance issue that should have been fixed before guests arrived. Such details greatly affect the overall experience. We also tried the food. While the taste wasn’t terrible, the cooking oil quality was concerning. The food was too oily, and the preparation didn’t inspire confidence. Better food quality and preparation would improve dining. There was a general lack of attention to detail. A hotel doesn’t need to be luxurious but should be clean, well-maintained, hygienic, and comfortable. Sadly, our experience missed the mark in these basic areas. We share this feedback hoping management will take it seriously and improve housekeeping, maintenance, bathroom facilities, room freshness, and food quality. Overall, our stay was disappointing, and we wouldn’t currently recommend Rumuk Hotel as a comfortable place to stay. We hope the management uses this feedback to enhance the property and guest experience.

Simply good Chain Singh Ji performed excellently

Ideal Retreat for Nature Enthusiasts and Bird Photographers June 24-26, 2026 The Setting: Nestled among the lush green peaks of the Garhwal mountains, this spot offers a peaceful break from urban chaos. It was just what we needed to escape the heavy traffic of Mussoorie. Our Stay: We spent two nights here. Each day started with tranquil nature walks accompanied by the calming sounds of the forest and birdsong, and ended with stunning sunsets. As a bird photographer, I found this place truly delightful. The Resort & Getting There: The journey includes a 5 km stretch of bumpy road, but it’s quite manageable. The rooms were tidy, roomy, and very cozy. Dining & Service: Every meal was tasty, and the staff was friendly and hospitable. Special thanks to the manager, Gurmeet Singh Ji, who was extremely helpful throughout our stay. Included are some photos I captured during my two-day visit. Looking forward to returning soon and staying longer.
