ROOMS - THEY MAY HAVE 50-80 ROOMS, BUT ONLY 10-15 ARE ACTUALLY USABLE. WE BOOKED THE "WINTER GREEN ROOM" FOR 4.8.26 ON 1.8.26 (FULLY PREPAID). WHEN WE ARRIVED, THE LOCATION WAS SHADY - INSIDE A SHOPPING COMPLEX, NOT A STANDALONE HOTEL. THE ROOM WAS POORLY MAINTAINED AND SMELLED BADLY (OLD FUNGUS SMELL DUE TO LACK OF VENTILATION). WE REQUESTED A KING BED, BUT THE ROOM HAD TWIN BEDS. I ASKED FOR A KING BED ROOM SINCE I WAS WITH MY WIFE AND 2-YEAR-OLD BABY WHO NEEDED TO SLEEP BETWEEN US. THEY SUGGESTED PUSHING THE TWIN BEDS TOGETHER, BUT I SAID IT WOULDN'T BE COMFORTABLE AND REQUESTED A ROOM CHANGE. THEY SAID THIS WAS THE LAST ROOM IN THAT CATEGORY. I OFFERED TO PAY EXTRA FOR AN UPGRADE, BUT SUDDENLY THEY CLAIMED THEY WERE SOLD OUT FOR THE DAY, MEANING THEY ONLY HAD THAT SMELLY, POORLY MAINTAINED ROOM LEFT AMONG 80 ROOMS, WITH ONLY ONE GUEST SEEN AT RECEPTION AND NONE ELSEWHERE (STRANGE BUT POSSIBLE). LONG STORY SHORT - WE DID NOT CHECK IN AND LEFT TO FIND ANOTHER HOTEL AFTER PAYING FULLY TO THE FERN, MORBI, AS OUR CHILD NEEDED PROPER SLEEP. WE WERE TIRED FROM TRAVELING ALL DAY. SERVICE - THE FERN'S TEAM CONTACTED EASEMYTRIP ON A CALL. THE PERSON SPEAKING WAS NOT FROM THE FERN AND SEEMED TO BE A RECOVERY AGENT FROM A PREVIOUS JOB. HE WAS RUDE AND SAID WE CHOSE THE LOWEST CATEGORY AND THAT WAS ALL THEY HAD TO OFFER. SO, THE FERN'S WINTER GREEN ROOM IS THEIR LOWEST CATEGORY AND CUSTOMERS BOOKING IT ARE NOT VALUED. IF SO, JUST REMOVE THIS CATEGORY FROM YOUR INVENTORY! DON'T YOU MAKE MONEY FROM WINTER GREEN ROOM? MR. RECOVERY AGENT, LET ME TELL YOU - 4.8.26 THE FERN - WINTER GREEN ROOM - 2600/- TAX PAID VIA EASEMYTRIP HOTEL NEPTUNE INN - 3780/- TAX PAID - WALK-IN SO, BE PROFESSIONAL AS THE CUSTOMER PAID MORE FOR A BETTER ROOM ELSEWHERE THAN YOUR SO-CALLED "REPUTED CHAIN." ANYWAY, I DON'T WANT A REFUND, BUT OUR EXPERIENCE AT THE FERN - MORBI HAS COMPLETELY CHANGED OUR OPINION OF THIS CHAIN, AFTER HAVING STAYED AT THE FERN - MUMBAI A FEW MONTHS AGO. IF BOOKING THE WINTER GREEN ROOM AT THE FERN, YOU ARE TAKING A RISK. HAVE A BACKUP PLAN READY, AS THEIR RECOVERY AGENTS WILL GIVE YOU TROUBLE. ADIOS.
