Indian Railways Introduces a Coach with See-Through Ceiling.

A good news for train travellers! The Indian Railways has launched a see-through Vistadome coach on Visakhapatnam-Kirandul passenger train.

The 40 seat coach has been designed to provide a delightful scenic journey between Visakhapatnam and Araku Valley, offering pleasing views to the travellers. The first-of-its-kind coach has large glass windows and reclining seats which can be leaned back to 360 degrees for a better view. It also has as an observation lounge.

Some Tidbits

The coach has other interesting features including automated sliding doors, multi-tier luggage rack and the USP– glass domed ceiling. Tourists can now sit and relax while  enjoying the amazing views of the Lambasingi, Anantagiri Ghat Section and Borra Caves on their journey. At present, only one coach on the entire train route has been designed on  trial basis but railways is planning to have some more coaches as well.

Mr Suresh Prabhu, the Railway Minister, flagged off the train through video conferencing.
