Indian Railways has announced it plans to gradually resume train services for passengers from 12th May, 2020. Online booking for these trains will start from today, 11th May, 2020 at 4 pm.
Here are all the details you should know:
- The train services will begin initially with 15 pairs of trains everyday.
- These trains will run as special trains from New Delhi and will be connecting 15 important Indian cities: Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Trivandrum, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad and Jammu Tawi.
- These passenger trains will be run with only AC coaches and with limited stoppages.
- The fare of these trains will be equivalent to the ticket fare charged for Rajdhani trains.
- Only passengers with valid and confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the railway stations.
- It will be mandatory for the passengers to wear face masks and undergo screening at departure. Moreover, only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board the train.
- Train Ticket booking counters at stations will remain closed and no counter tickets, including platform tickets, will be issued.
