Indian Railways to Resume Passenger Services from May 12

Indian Railways has announced it plans to gradually resume train services for passengers from 12th May, 2020. Online booking for these trains will start from today, 11th May, 2020 at 4 pm.

Here are all the details you should know:

  • The train services will begin initially with 15 pairs of trains everyday.
  • These trains will run as special trains from New Delhi and will be connecting 15 important Indian cities: Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Trivandrum, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad and Jammu Tawi.

  • These passenger trains will be run with only AC coaches and with limited stoppages.
  • The fare of these trains will be equivalent to the ticket fare charged for Rajdhani trains.
  • Only passengers with valid and confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the railway stations.
  • It will be mandatory for the passengers to wear face masks and undergo screening at departure. Moreover, only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board the train.
  • Train Ticket booking counters at stations will remain closed and no counter tickets, including platform tickets, will be issued.
