New Vande Bharat Flagged Off! Travel Time between Chandigarh and Delhi Shortened

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the fourth Vande Bharat Express on Thursday, 13th October. This train will operate between New Delhi and Amb Andaura in Himachal Pradesh, and is all set to shorten the distance between Chandigarh and the national capital to less than three hours. As per the sources, the train will begin its operations from 19th October.

Here are the highlights –

1– The train will run between Delhi and Himachal Pradesh six days a week (except on Wednesdays).
2– The train will halt at Ambala, Chandigarh, Anandpur Sahib and Una Himachal in between its end stations.
3– This is the fourth Vande Bharat Express train launched in the country.
4– The train is capable of reaching a peak speed of 160 kmph.
5– The travel time between the source and destination stations will be reduced from 7 hours to 5 hours, 15 minutes.


6– It is also equipped with Kavach (Automatic Train Protection system).
7– It is a ‘Make in India’ project.

A statement from the Railways read, “Several changes have been made in the new Vande Bharat trains.” Recliner seats, CCTV cameras and automatic fire sensors have also been installed on the train to make the journey more comfortable and safer.
