January 5, 2018 – Aadhar Number not Compulsory for booking Train Tickets

Aadhaar Number is not mandatory for booking train tickets but a number of initiatives have been taken by the railways to promote it.  Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain said, “A reward scheme has also been introduced by IRCTC to incentivise linking of Aadhaar with the user ID”.
