Railways Launches, Restores, Extends Multiple Trains

Great news for train travellers!  

Continuing its efforts to accommodate a higher number of passengers, the Indian Railways will be launching, extending and restoring many additional trains for the month of August. Scroll down to learn more.

New Trains

> The East Central Railway (ECR) confirmed that two new trains will run between Santragachi and Ajmer. 

Train no. 18009 Santragachi–Ajmer Express will begin operations on 5th August. It will depart at 1 PM on Friday and reach its destination at 4:55 AM on Sunday. 

Train no. 18010 Ajmer–Santragachi Express will begin operations on 7th August. It will depart at 11:30 PM on Sunday and reach its destination at 2:30 PM on Tuesday. 

> The ECR also shared information about two Shravani Mela special trains.

The services will operate between Danapur and Bhagalpur. For the complete details, here’s the official tweet: 

> The North Eastern Railway will be launching a pair of services between Ranchi and Banaras. 

Starting from 20th August, train no. 18611 Ranchi–Banaras Express will run every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Departing from Ranchi at 8:10 PM, it will reach its destination at 9:25 AM the next day. 

Starting from 21st August, train no. 18612 Banaras–Ranchi Express will run every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Departing from Banaras at 3 PM, it will reach its destination at 4:15 AM the next day. 

Restoration of Trains

> The South Eastern Railway announced the restoration of train no. 08662. 

Beginning from 5th August, the Asansol–Adra MEMU Special will depart from Asansol at 10:35 PM, and will arrive at Adra at 11:45 PM the same night. It will be available to passengers on a daily basis.

> The Western Railway notified about the resumption of 12 trains that will come into effect in the month of August.

Extension of Trains

> The Southern Railway declared that one pair of trains will be extended in terms of its route. 

Train nos. 17315/17316 which are presently running to/from Nagapattinam will now extend to Velankanni. Consequently, the route covered will now be Vasco da Gama–Velankanni–Vasco da Gama. 

The new route will come into effect from 8th August for train no. 17315, and from 9th August for train no. 17316. 

> The North Eastern Railway has decided to extend the trips of four trains.

The services cover the routes of Izzatnagar–Bandra Terminus and Lal Kuan–Mumbai Central. For more details about the dates and train numbers, here is the official tweet:
