Superb customer service

by Melissa C on 15 Feb 2019 (Solo Traveller)

I had the pleasure of staying at the Imperial twice on a recent photography trip in India - first for three nights prior to the start of the trip, and then for one night between the end of the Rajasthan portion of our trip and the beginning of a Varanasi extension. I mention this because in checking out from the hotel the first time I inadvertently left behind my iPad in the room and didn't realize it until we were at our next hotel, in Jaipur. Magnificent

by Tiger1313 on 15 Feb 2019 (Couple Traveller)

This is our 7th stay at the Imperial hotel, don't even think about staying anywhere else. it's a haven in busy but delightful Delhi - the hotel reeks class, incredible art, and impeccable service. The food is some of the best you will find in India, gorgeous, spotless and spacious rooms in all categories. A dream hotel worth saving up for, romantic too! For my husband's birthday a divine chocolate cake and red roses arrived. Quiet elegance, sums up this palace.

Delhi

A hotel soaked in welcoming grandeur. Wonderful spa particularly the massage treatments. Good central location. Good dining options. Wonderful atrium and old photographs. Staff are very friendly and attentive.

Ruined by untrustworthy employees

While there is a lot to like about this hotel, visitors should be aware that at least one of the front desk clerks will try to scam you when exchanging foreign currency. Management, being notified of this, were not helpful and denied that anything like this could possibly happen. You are not treated as a valued customer at The Imperial; you are simply a foreigner to be taken advantage of. Disappointing.

Excellent service

by pathdaft on 11 Feb 2019 (Couple Traveller)

The Imperial misses out on the 'sophistication' of a more modern establishment, but the hotel has 'old world' charm and history in spades. The hotel, including the grounds, restaurants, and atrium, is beautiful. The rooms were as expected with the exception of a non-functional outlet built into the desk. The breakfast was served in the 1911 restaurant, and while it was good, it would have been even better if dosas were available. The shining star at this hotel was the staff and service, who were...

In a Nutshell

Imperial Delhi represents the best of the British Raj. It is aristocratic, stately and elite. The white, low-rise building is designed in line with the architectural style of Lutyens’ Delhi. Imperial Hotel is the heights of luxury and class. Stay here to be a part of history and to make a statement.
