Christ Church

Built in the 18th century, this church is a brilliant example of Gothic architecture. With impeccable glasswork and an organ to its credit, the Christ Church is one of the few places where you can request the Presbyter for a special carol to be sung on Christmas. Overlooking the vibrant Mall Road, this church is a symbol of the hill station of Shimla for many.

St. Michael’s Cathedral

This majestic piece of architecture was built in the 19th century and is one of the very few Catholic Churches in Shimla. Depicting various details of the French Gothic style, this church isn’t the most famous in Shimla but is remarkably beautiful.

Saint Paul’s Cathedral

Sacred Heart Church

Founded in the year 1832, this majestic church will leave you spellbound with its excellent architecture. Located in a nice, sprawling campus, Sacred Heart Church was blessed on 30th March, 1834, which was Easter Sunday that year.

CSI Holy Trinity Cathedral 

The Holy Trinity Church is not only one of the most beautiful churches in Kottayam town but also has a soulful choir to boast of. Basilica of Bom Jesus

Home to the remains of St. Francis Xavier, an iconic figure in the Roman Catholic world, the Basilica of Bom Jesus is a hot draw for many curious tourists. Convent & Church of St Francis of Assisi

The Convent & Church of St. Francis of Assisi is among the most prominent features of old Goa’s skyline. The structure is crammed full of amazing curios that include 16th century family coats of arms, the portrayal of quite a few defining moments from the life of St. Francis through murals, and the elaborately done up screen or reredos. There is a floor here, which has been made from carved gravestones.

Se Cathedral

This largest church in India, dedicated to Catherine of Alexandria, took 57 years to complete and today, is considered to be a magnificent example of the Portuguese Manueline architecture. It was built to commemorate the victory of the Portuguese over a Muslim army, in 1510. This church has 15 small altars dedicated to Our Lady of Hope, Our Lady of Three Needs, and Our Lady of Anguish and the grand altar is dedicated to Catherine with several old paintings on either side. The Corinthian style columns and the Golden Bell, which is considered to be the largest in Goa are the two most attracting features of this church.

Infant Jesus Church

Santa Cruz Basilica

This is the oldest church in the whole of India, built by the Portuguese in 1505. It happens to be one of the eight Basilicas in India and is considered to be a heritage site of Kerala. This church apart from being a place of devotion, is truly a work of art.

Edappally St. George Church

This 300 year old church was built in the name of the Virgin Mary, but in due course, it was renamed as St. George’s church. The statue of Saint George is shown riding a horse and spearing the head of a serpent lying below. It is meant to represent faith and valour in overpowering evil.
