A passenger train, going from Visakhapatnam to Rayagada, collided with another train, Palasa Express, en route to Visakhapatnam on Sunday. Nine people have died and 32 have been injured in the accident so far.

The trains collided at around 7 pm on Sunday, following which two rear coaches of the Visakhapatnam-Palasa passenger train and the engine of the Visakhapatnam-Rayagada passenger train got derailed.
As many as 33 trains have been cancelled and six others rescheduled after the mishap.
The rescue operations are still going on and track clearance operations are in full swing.
Following the accident, several trains have either been cancelled or diverted, or rescheduled by East Coast Railway and South Central Railway.
