Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) has resumed domestic flight operations from today with special arrangements for the safety of passengers after an almost two-month complete shutdown due to the nationwide lockdown.
Passengers flying to or from the Delhi Airport must keep these 10 important arrangements in mind:
1. All flights will be operating from Terminal 3 of the airport.
2. The airport has made thermal screening of passengers before entering the airport compulsory to check the spread of the virus.
3. In order to avoid close contact and crowding at the counters, passengers are being encouraged to check-in at home or use self-service facilities at the airport.
4. For arriving passengers, social distance markings have been put up at aerobridges, piers, lifts, travelators, etc. The provision of hand sanitisers at the exit of passenger bridges/bus gate arrival areas has also been made.
5. Only one piece each of cabin and check-in baggage will be allowed as per government guidelines.

6. Baggage will be disinfected at the ultraviolet (UV) light disinfection tunnel at both departure and arrival points.

Book Cheap Flights7. Social distancing markings have also been put up around baggage belts and additional seating arrangements have been made in this area for waiting passengers.
8. Masks and gloves are compulsory for all.
9. A team of 500 professionals have been deployed to carry out disinfection drive every hour at the airport.
10. Washrooms will be closed once every hour to sanitise all the surfaces through both UV tower and regular cleaning. Systems have also been placed to replace the air inside the terminal every 10 minutes.
The international flight operations still remain suspended in the country.
