An Apple a Day: Himachal’s Very Own Apple Festival!

In a move to boost tourism and promote the apple industry, Himachal Pradesh is organizing a two-day Apple festival in Shimla between September 27-28, 2019.

In a statement, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kashyap said,“This two-day Apple fest will be organised by the Tourism Department in close synergy with other departments to make Himachal apples a brand at the international level.”

The primary attraction of the festival will be newly developed varieties of apple and apple-based products. Visitors can also learn about the different stages of apple cultivation. Additionally, activities like quiz, orchard tourism travel, painting competition and the Apple Queen contest will be held as well.

Mouth-watering Himachali cuisine and bakery products made from apples would also be showcased at the event. The festival will be organised at Gaiety Theatre’s Gothic Hall and the Multipurpose Hall.
