Railways issues 6 guidelines for food on trains

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal is taking these 6 preventive measures on all catering establishments to fight against the deadly coronavirus from spreading.

> Employees with symptoms such as fever, running nose, cough or difficulty in breathing wouldn’t be allowed in the business of food handling.

While dealing with food production, all catering staff have been asked to wear hand gloves, headgear, facemask, etc.


> All catering staff have been directed to wash the uniforms on a regular basis.

> All the catering establishments have to undergo a thorough cleaning by using a disinfectant on frequently touched objects and surfaces.

> Ensuring proper packaging of food items and also to avoid the use of loose items as far as possible. All food items should be stored in a hygienic way.

> Lastly, the catering units have also been directed to ensure the strict prohibition of entry of outsiders/unauthorised persons in food dealing areas.
