COVID-19 Impact: Know how Indian Railways is fighting Coronavirus

In order to protect millions of rail passengers from coronavirus (COVID-19), the Ministry of Railways has taken these 5 necessary steps to contain the outbreak.

Note: The disease has already affected over 70 Indians

1. Massive awareness campaigns: Posters and pamphlets regarding coronavirus are being displayed and distributed to the general public in local languages at railways stations and in trains.

 

2. To treat suspected cases, railway hospitals have been provided with over 1000 isolation beds and more than 12,000 beds for quarantining them at different locations.

3. All railway hospitals have been set up with control rooms and telephone helplines.

 


4. As per reports, Railways has even suspended biometric attendance.

5. All medical representatives of Zones /PUs have been asked to be in constant touch with the respective State Authorities to obtain updated guidelines on the subject.
