Delhi Metro Fares To Increase From Today..

Attention Delhi Metro travellers! Your metro travel is going to get a little expensive from Wednesday, 10th May. The DMRC ( Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) approved the fare hike and the new rule will be implemented in only a couple of days from its approval date, Monday, 8th May.

The new minimum fare would be INR 10 as compared to the existing INR 8 and the maximum fare would go upto INR 50 which is at present INR 30. The latest fare slabs are INR 10, INR 15, INR 20, INR 30, INR 40 and INR 50 as per the new policy.

“The board has accepted the revision of fare recommended by a panel. There will be a public notice about the fare tomorrow and the new rates will be effective from Wednesday,” a source confirmed.

The last revision in metro fares dates back to 2009 when the minimum ticket charge was raised from INR 6 to INR 8 and the maximum fare went to INR 30 from INR 22.
