Railways has decided to reserve 6 more berths for women in the AC-3 tiers of Duronto, Rajdhani, and other fully air-conditioned trains except Garib Rath Express.

A railway board circular issued on November 30 stated, “It has been decided that a reservation quota of six berths in 3AC class of all Rajdhani, Duronto, fully air-conditioned trains should be earmarked for female passengers, irrespective of their age, or whether someone is travelling alone or in a group.”
This new quota is in addition to a combined quota of 4 lower berths per coach for female passengers above the age of 45 years, senior citizens and pregnant women in AC 3 tier.
Currently, railways offer a reservation quota of 6 sleeper class berths in every Express or Mail train for female passengers, travelling alone or in a group. It also provides a quota of 6 berths per train in 3 AC of Garib Rath Express trains for women.
