Contactless processes

Many hotels are considering innovative methods to make all processes contactless. From viewing the menu to making the payments, all functions will be digitized. For example, Taj Hotels are considering digitized or single-use menus, and online check-in and check-out.

Thermal screening of all employees and guests

All employees, vendors and guests entering the hotels will undergo a mandatory thermal screening. They have created new processes to ensure necessary health check-ups as well as have sufficient first aid kits for both employees and guests.

Availability of healthcare facilities

Additionally, properties are adding details of nearest hospitals and a list of doctors who can visit the hotel on call. All this information will be made available to guests before their arrival.

Intensive sanitization

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) said that all hotels under its brands such as Taj, Vivanta, SeleQtions and Ginger would implement enhanced precautionary measures. They will conduct hospital-level sanitization to ensure the highest level of safety. Common areas, cars, elevators will witness more frequent disinfection.

All the hotels are following cleanliness procedures, as suggested in the guidelines shared by the authorities. From washing laundry to regular disinfection, hotels are implementing the new safety standards. Guest accommodations will be disinfected between stays and sealed after cleaning. Visitors will also be allowed to opt-out of cleaning services if they wish to do so.

Strict Social Distancing

All hotels will adhere to the guidelines by the government, and social distancing will be followed everywhere. The IHCL group said it would suspend all self-serving buffets, and restaurants and banquets will have fewer tables than usual. The hotel staff will be trained on social distancing norms. Food delivery will be possible in guest rooms and regular sanitization will take place in common dining areas. Visitors will see more digital menus instead of the old paper ones.

If you are planning to step out and experience the new normal, don’t forget to wear a mask and follow all precautions.
