Brij Atmanya, Bhowali | A Luxury Mountain Escape

We chose this place to celebrate my wife's birthday, and she thoroughly enjoyed every part of it. The hospitality was outstanding throughout our stay. The reception, restaurant, and housekeeping staff were all very friendly, polite, and attentive. Special thanks to the housekeeping team for their excellent standards; they surprised us with a lovely handwritten birthday note and their own Uptan shower gel, which my wife really liked. This thoughtful gesture made our visit even more special. Since it was her birthday, the team also organized a beautiful candlelight dinner with a cake, which was a very kind and memorable touch. The resort had fewer guests during our visit, so there was no buffet, but we could order anything from the menu. Everything was freshly made, and some dishes stood out—especially the Bhel served during high tea and the Pineapple Sheera, both delicious. A small suggestion for the chef: good cooking takes time, and there are no shortcuts. If guests ask for something unusual, it's better to prepare it properly rather than improvising. The property is very peaceful, with each room carefully designed to harmonize with the natural surroundings. We stayed in the Vermala room, which had a lovely private sit-out where we enjoyed some great moments together. The bathroom was spacious and had all necessary amenities. One of my favorite things was the restaurant; right outside, you can hear the calming sound of a mountain stream flowing beneath the property. Sitting there with a cup of tea while listening to the water was one of the most relaxing parts of our stay. The road leading to the resort is a bit tricky, as the last part is an unpaved road, but it is completely safe. We drove an Ertiga and had no issues reaching the place. Just drive slowly and you'll be fine. The resort is away from crowds, perfect for anyone wanting to relax in nature. Despite its remote location, Mall Road is only about 17 km away, and the roads are very good, making the drive easy. There were plenty of indoor and outdoor games to keep kids entertained, making it a good choice for families too. I won't comment on the price because luxury has its cost, and this place offers an experience that justifies it. Overall, we loved everything about our stay and would gladly come back. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful, luxurious getaway with excellent hospitality.

Brij Atmanya: A child's perspective Chapter one: Suites We stayed in two wonderful suites that had nice showers and welcome snacks. They also gave us Ubtan, a natural face mask, and a body polisher made from natural ingredients. The beds were comfy and there were good quality TVs facing cozy couch-chairs. Chapter two: Food The room service was quite good. I suggest trying the Kumaoni Thali. At the restaurant, the Maggi, carrot pickle, and vanilla shake were tasty, but I wouldn't recommend the upma. Chapter three: Fun stuff I found two swings in great spots, each fitting two people. There was also a room where you could paint, play chess, foosball, golf, ping-pong, and more. Beanbags were available too! Chapter four: Service The staff were friendly. Chapter five: Location The views are amazing! This place is truly set in the mountains, so the ride is a bit bumpy but the scenery is stunning. Chapter six: Cat There is a very friendly cat! Chapter seven: Overall review Awesome place!! I definitely recommend it.

Every department, especially housekeeping, is excellent. I want to highlight that Ankit is very humble and stays very attentive throughout the night.

We stayed here for six nights with our family and were truly impressed. The greatest advantage of Brij Atmanya is their complete management of our holiday. From airport pickup to the return journey, every transfer, excursion, and activity was organized and carried out flawlessly. We never had to worry about logistics at all. The property is small, but they make up for it by constantly adding new experiences like village trips, forest trails, tea sessions, local activities, bonfires, and meals in various settings. Each day offered a slightly different experience, so even a six-night stay never felt dull. The food was outstanding, with special praise to the chef! The Kumaoni cuisine was very authentic, and overall the food exceeded our expectations by a wide margin. This was something everyone in our family agreed on, and we eagerly anticipated every meal. Lastly, the people were exceptionally warm, friendly, and always willing to assist. It's a wonderful place if you want to relax for a few days and explore Kumaon without having to handle any planning.

We visited for a family retreat and found the location, property, and service to be excellent! The stay was calm and peaceful with very friendly and helpful staff. They quickly met all our needs, including catering to Jain dietary preferences. It was impressive how they remembered guest preferences and were careful about what was provided. This really enhanced the customer experience. A wonderful stay away from the city yet still in Nainital.
