Chevron Rosemount Hotel

We visited Rosemount Hotel, Ranikhet for evening snacks, and unfortunately, the overall dining experience was disappointing.We ordered Honey Chilli Potato, Chilli Chicken, Chicken Pakoda, and Cold Coffee. Out of everything, the Chicken Pakoda was the only dish we genuinely enjoyed. It was crispy, flavorful, and well-prepared’I would happily rate it 4/5.However, the Honey Chilli Potato and Chilli Chicken had an excessive use of artificial food colouring, which affected both the appearance and taste. The Cold Coffee was extremely thin and watery, with almost no froth or coffee flavor. Considering the prices charged, the taste, quality, and quantity did not justify the cost.What disappointed us even more was the response to our feedback. We requested the waiter to call the chef so we could share our concerns directly, but we were told that the chef does not meet guests. That was quite surprising, as customer feedback is one of the best ways for any restaurant to improve.After we shared our disappointment, the waiter was courteous and decided to waive the GST from our bill, which we appreciate. However, our concern was never about saving money. Customers are more than happy to pay premium prices when they receive food that matches the quality and expectations.On a positive note, the hotel itself is beautiful. The heritage British-era architecture, ambience, and surroundings are truly impressive and make the property worth visiting.I sincerely hope the restaurant management takes this feedback constructively and focuses on improving the food quality. A property with such a wonderful ambience deserves an equally memorable dining experience. Otherwise, it will be difficult to convince visitors to drive 2’4 km from the Army Mall Road just for the restaurant. I genuinely hope to see improvements on my next visit.

After expressing our dissatisfaction, the waiter was polite and chose to remove the GST from our bill, which we appreciated. Still, our issue was not about saving money; customers are willing to pay premium prices if the food quality meets expectations. On a brighter note, the hotel itself is stunning, with beautiful heritage British-era architecture, a great atmosphere, and lovely surroundings that make it worth visiting. I truly hope the restaurant management takes this feedback seriously and works on enhancing the food quality. Such a charming place deserves an equally great dining experience; otherwise, it will be hard to persuade visitors to travel 2–4 km from Army Mall Road just for the restaurant. I look forward to seeing improvements on my next visit.

Pleasant experience

Everything was great except the rooms felt damp from being closed up for a long period. This caused me to develop a serious lung infection.

Chevron Rosemount is one of those places that perfectly blends heritage charm with the tranquility of the mountains. Nestled amidst towering deodar and pine trees, the property offers a peaceful retreat away from the crowds. The colonial architecture, beautifully maintained gardens, and warm ambience make the stay truly memorable.The rooms are comfortable, clean, and full of character, while the staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home. The food is fresh and delicious, and enjoying a cup of tea in the garden with the cool mountain breeze is an experience in itself.If you're visiting Ranikhet and want a stay that's rich in history, surrounded by nature, and known for its warm hospitality, Chevron Rosemount is an excellent choice.
