Hillside Hideaway Gudalur

Excellent location.

The room offered an excellent view. I really enjoyed it. It was tidy and clean.

I reserved 2*Deluxe double rooms at this hotel via Make my trip after reading many positive reviews and seeing the room photos. But once I checked in, the reality was different. The rooms were very small, barely fitting a bed, and were not properly cleaned, with a strong unpleasant odor. I noticed cockroaches running around in all corners. The geyser was not functioning. The location is decent, but the parking area is a bit cramped. I wouldn't recommend this place for families or guests expecting a comfortable stay. It might be okay for bachelors who are fine with basic comfort. I think this place should be called a lodge rather than a hotel.

I enjoyed a very comfortable and enjoyable stay here. The room was tidy, clean, and quiet. The owner, an uncle, was very kind, attentive, and respectful during our entire visit, making us feel secure and welcome. The hospitality was truly touching. I would certainly suggest this place to anyone seeking a safe and cozy stay.

Enjoyed a very cozy 3-night, 2-day visit here. The highlight was the owner uncle, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home immediately. The staff were quick, helpful, and truly responsible. Any minor requests were handled promptly without any hassle. Being a purely vegetarian family with kids, the food from nearby ICH was excellent. The location is another advantage—right by the bus stand, making travel convenient. The rooms were tidy and comfortable, ideal for a peaceful stay. I would definitely suggest this place if you want a homely atmosphere, good service, and a convenient location.
