Do not rely on the receptionist.

We stayed at this hotel for four days, and unfortunately, due to our overall experience, we would not suggest it to others. To be fair, the stay itself was fine. The rooms were tidy and clean, room service was good, and the staff were polite. Our only issue was that we had no hot water for one day because the MCB kept tripping whenever they tried to start the geyser in our room. Since it was our last day and we had hot water on previous days, we managed without it. However, the main problem arose after we checked out. We settled all bills and left, but while traveling back by train, the manager called to say we had broken a wall-mounted wooden shelf in our room and sent a photo of the damage. We immediately explained the shelf was already broken when we arrived, but the manager refused to accept this, insisting his staff had checked the room before allotting it and that we were responsible. We admitted we should have reported it immediately but did not because my parents wanted to stay next to my sister's room to spend time with their grandson and did not want to change rooms. We assumed the hotel knew about the shelf's condition and did not think to report it. Looking back, that was our biggest mistake. The most disappointing part was how the issue was handled after checkout. We assured them we are honest people who would admit and pay for any damage caused, but the manager kept insisting we broke the shelf. When asked if he personally checked the room, he said no, but trusted his staff more than us. Both my father and I tried to explain, but he remained unconvinced. For us, this was not just about a shelf but about being wrongly accused and having our honesty questioned after paying and leaving. So, despite good rooms, service, and staff, this incident left a very negative impression. We advise future guests to carefully inspect their room upon arrival and report any damage immediately, even if minor, and take photos or videos. Our mistake was assuming the hotel already knew about the broken shelf. We hope others can avoid a similar situation.
