Hotel Village Walk

Staying at Village Walk Hotel was an amazing experience.

Our overnight stay at Hotel Village Walk, Sonamarg was unfortunately one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had.The room was extremely small’so cramped that it was difficult to move around comfortably. One side of the bed was completely blocked against the wall, making it impossible for one person to get in or out of bed easily. The bathroom was also exceptionally small and felt very restrictive.Cleanliness was a major concern. We found hair under the pillow and around the bed, which immediately raised questions about the housekeeping standards. The toiletries provided also had an unpleasant smell, making them unusable.The room’s fan was installed in a corner, away from the bed, so there was very little direct airflow, making the room uncomfortable.The dining experience was equally disappointing. The food did not meet even basic expectations for quality or taste, and we ended up leaving most of our meal.Overall, this was not the level of comfort, cleanliness, or hospitality we expected. Based on our experience, I would rate this property 1 out of 5 stars.If you’re planning a trip to the Kashmir region and are looking for a more comfortable and enjoyable stay, I would recommend considering well-established properties such as Four Points by Sheraton Srinagar, Grand Hyatt Goa (if you’re travelling elsewhere in India), or Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Sonamarg, depending on your itinerary.

Our stay at Hotel Village Walk, Sonamarg was sadly one of the most unsatisfactory hotel experiences we've encountered. The room was very tiny—so tight that moving around comfortably was tough. One side of the bed was flush against the wall, making it hard for one person to get in or out easily. The bathroom was also very small and felt quite confining. Cleanliness was a big issue; we found hair under the pillow and near the bed, which made us question the housekeeping. The toiletries had a bad smell and were unusable. The fan was placed in a corner away from the bed, so there was little direct airflow, making the room uncomfortable. The dining was also disappointing; the food lacked quality and taste, and we left most of it uneaten. Overall, the comfort, cleanliness, and hospitality were below expectations. I would rate this hotel 1 out of 5 stars. For a better stay in Kashmir, I suggest well-known hotels like Four Points by Sheraton Srinagar, Grand Hyatt Goa (if traveling elsewhere in India), or Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Sonamarg, depending on your plans.

The location is perfect in Sonmarg at hill top with excellent view from premium rooms. However based on the tarrif (over 10k during season), the room size is small, washroom is small with small size WC seat and both washbasin and WC seats are tilted (in premium room). There must be a hair dryer, makeup / shaving magnifying mirror in the washroom. There is no fan in the room, so on a hot day, it may be bit challenging to stay in the rooms.Dinner was good.The breakfast was below average with very limited options and no taste at all. The poha was hard, the bread was only white (no brown or multigrain option), in the name of fruit only bananas cut in pieces, who will eat a banana already cut in pieces. This is you expect on a budget hotel not in a 10k property.Management must look into the value given to customer while they are charging a good money for stay.

The location in Sonmarg is ideal, situated on a hilltop with great views from the premium rooms. However, considering the tariff (over 10k during the season), the room and washroom sizes are small, with a small WC seat and both the washbasin and WC seats are tilted in the premium room. The washroom should include a hair dryer and a makeup/shaving magnifying mirror. There is no fan in the room, which can make staying there uncomfortable on hot days. Dinner was enjoyable. Breakfast was disappointing, with very limited choices and lacking flavor. The poha was hard, only white bread was available (no brown or multigrain options), and the fruit offering was just bananas cut into pieces, which is unappealing. Such quality might be expected at a budget hotel, not at a property charging 10k. The management needs to reconsider the value provided to guests given the high prices charged.
