Very nice place and very easily accessible to city centre and a few metres away from beach. Rooms are very cleanly maintained. Very polite, respectful , and cooperative staff.I felt very peaceful stay.

Good food and ambience. Very polite staff. Liked to speak to Karishma again. Thanks for all the services. All the staff at Sterling were good it was overwhelming experience. Head chef karishma has prepared awesome food loved upma, puri sabji. Wonderful coffee. Poha kheer was cherry on the top.

Sterling Karwar ’ Nowhere Near a 4-Star ExperienceI honestly do not understand how Sterling Karwar is rated as a 4-star property. Based on my stay, I would not rate it higher than 2 stars, and that too only because it appears to be one of the few relatively decent hotel options in Karwar and because the staff are polite, courteous, and genuinely helpful. Unfortunately, everything else about the hotel is extremely disappointing.The rooms are poorly maintained. The air conditioner was visibly dirty, and I was genuinely uncomfortable turning it on because it looked like it had not been cleaned in a long time. The bedsheets were stained, and the towels smelled unpleasant, which is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be premium. The curtains were the worst. When I opened them, a visible cloud of dust came out and hit my face, after which I started feeling unwell, with coughing and cold-like symptoms. That level of dust buildup points to extremely poor housekeeping.The bathroom is tiny and badly designed, making it uncomfortable to use. Even basic ergonomics seem to have been ignored in the room. For example, the work desk is too low and the chair is too high, so once you sit down you cannot even slide the chair under the desk properly. These kinds of design mistakes make the room frustrating to use.The restaurant and food are very poor. The buffet serves the same items every single day, with very little variety, and the taste is below average at best. For a hotel charging premium rates, this is simply not acceptable.The gym is old, worn out, and poorly maintained, which again does not match what you would expect from a so-called 4-star property.The biggest issue is that the hotel looks tired, dirty, and neglected. It feels like it has not been properly renovated, deep-cleaned, or maintained in years. The only positive aspect of the entire experience was the staff, who were polite and tried their best within the limits of a badly run property.Sterling Karwar might be the best available option in Karwar by default, but it is nowhere close to a true 4-star hotel. If basic cleanliness, comfort, and food quality matter to you, keep your expectations very low.

I have been a Sterling member since the 90s , and have used my membership regularly. First, to travel with my kids , and now, with my kids and grandkids. Ithas always been a very gratifying experience. One thing that can be added to the activities centre, is a toddler's den...a small area enclosed using simple chairs or kid barricades. And some basic toys made available. At Sterling Karwar, Manoj, the activities centre in charge , quickly responded to the idea , and my grandson, 14 months old, absolutely loved the freedom of his own space. Thank you. Another very compassionate response was from Vilma, at the reception. When I told her about the challenges a tight room was posing for my 30 years old special needs daughter Akanksha, she immediately had us shifted to a much larger spacious room. Much much gratitidefor people like Vilma and Manoj and the many other in F&B who responded so spontaneously to the dietary needs of my young grandchildren who are part Indian and part European. An absolutely stupendous experience that continues to get better and better each time. Thank you for such high standards of hospitality.’’’’

We had a pleasant stay at Sterling Hotel Karwar. The staff were extremely polite, courteous, and always ready to help, which made the experience even better. The rooms were comfortable and well-maintained.One small area for improvement could be the cleanliness of the bedsheets and quilts, but apart from that, everything else was wonderful. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would happily recommend this hotel to my friends and relatives.
