If you want an authentic, traditional experience rather than a modern chain hotel, this is the place for you.The property has a vintage feel that will appeal to travelers who enjoy heritage stays. With a little more focus on maintenance and guest service, this hotel could be even better, and I’ve shared this with the management as encouragement to look after the property well.I’d recommend it to tourists and travelers from across India who are looking for a heritage experience in Thanjavur.

Family • United Arab Emirates • Oct 2026After seeing so many reviews, we chose this place for our 2 days stay. Sadly was worst experience with no water bottles to drink, no toiletries and no towels. They took 2 hours to clean the room before handing it over to us, but pathetically nothing was cleaned.Food is even horrible with 1 thali is sold for 1250 and 1 tea was 300. There are many better places for the money they charge with amazing experience.Sadly this experience spoiled our Tanjavur stay for 2 days, couldn’t checkout after a day since we had already paid such an hefty amount for this 0star.

The cleanliness is terrible, the facilities are inadequate, and the staff service is very poor. Overall, the hotel is not worth the money at all. I would not recommend staying here.

One of the worst hotel experiences ever — a complete waste of money! Avoid this hotel! Despite reading the Google Maps reviews, I gave this property the benefit of the doubt, but my experience proved how disappointing this place really is. The rooms were dirty, dusty, and covered with spider webs. The TV was not working, the bathroom taps looked old and fragile, there was no geyser, and the promised hi-tea package was not provided. The staff would listen politely to every complaint but rarely take meaningful action, with unnecessary delays making the experience even more frustrating. Even breakfast was disappointing, with a limited spread and staff repeatedly asking whether we had finished eating, making us feel rushed rather than welcomed. For the amount charged, the cleanliness, facilities, food, and service were absolutely unacceptable. The only good thing about this property is the outside view; everything else was a disappointment. Do not waste your hard-earned money here. Beautiful views cannot compensate for poor maintenance, unhygienic rooms, inadequate food, and disappointing hospitality. I genuinely regret staying here and would never recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and worthwhile stay.
