I had a very disappointing and unpleasant experience during my stay at this Zostel franchise.There was no electricity at night, and when staff were asked about starting the generator, they simply replied that the “owner said not to switch it on.” This left the rooms full of mosquitoes, and the reception was completely unresponsive, they didn’t even bother answering calls. Because of the lack of electricity majority of my team meetings were cancelled which affected my work.I had also approached the reception staff once for help regarding property information, as I was planning to relocate to Sikkim. Later, I was shocked to receive a blackmail message from an unknown number 8167775677, falsely alleging personal involvement with the staff member. This was extremely disturbing and unprofessional.To make matters worse, another women who called on behalf of this staff called me and insisted that I should not inform Zostel authorities about the issue, claiming that the person involved was a police officer and related to the reception staff.Such incidents are absolutely unacceptable, especially at a brand like Zostel which is trusted by travelers across India. The lack of safety, professionalism, and accountability made this stay one of the most disgusting and distressing experiences I’ve ever had.I sincerely hope Zostel takes strict action against this franchise and ensures such behavior is never repeated, as it severely damages the reputation of the brand. We had a pleasant couple stay at this property,the building is new and well-maintained, which added to the comfort. Though the location is a bit inside a street and can be slightly tricky to find, the overall experience was good and peaceful.
