Indian Railways Clarifies: No Protocols Issued for Post Lockdown Period

Indian Railways has rejected media reports that said train operations would resume after the 21-day countrywide lockdown. Further, the national transporter has also denied any updates on issuing new travel protocols after lifting the lockdown.

Indian Railways issued a clarification after reports emerged that train services are likely to resume after April 14.

Union Railway Ministry has confirmed that no new guidelines were issued by the Indian Railways.

Noteixigo had sent out a news notification yesterday based on reports published by several online publications focusing on new protocols issued by the Indian Railways. Upon verification, these reports have been found incorrect, and the Indian Railways has clarified the same. We sincerely apologise for any confusion this may have caused. 

Indian Railways has suspended all passenger, mail and express train services from March 24 to April 14. Currently, only special parcel trains and freight are operational to supply the essential items across the country.
