Indian Railways Now Has A Single Helpline Number

There is some good news for rail travellers. For a better passenger experience, Indian Railways has integrated all its helpline numbers into one – 139.

The number 139 will take over all other customer help numbers. Passengers will now be able to dial 139 from any mobile number, and all queries during their train journey will be addressed on the same.

The queries can include topics like railway assistance, security, general complaints, catering complaints and accidents.

Helpline number 139 will be available in 12 languages. It will have an Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS).

*The call is charged at Rs.2 per minute

> For security and medical assistance, passengers can press 1
> For queries, travellers can press 2
> For catering complaints, rail passengers can press 3
> General complaints will be answered on number 4
> Vigilance-related complaints will be addressed by pressing number 5
> Press 6 for parcel or goods enquiry or complaints
> Press 7 for assistance related to trains operated by the IRCTC
> Press 9 to know the status of your complaint
> Press * to speak to a railway representative
