As per reports, by the end of the current fiscal year, all locomotives of Indian Railways will be GPS enabled. This move comes as a part of the Real-time Train Information System (RTIS).

He further said,  “RTIS will help us to track and record the movement of trains every 30 seconds. This will be a game changer in improving train punctuality and disseminating information to the public on train timing. The project will also help us to prepare the train chart.”

Besides this, CCTVs have also been fitted in train kitchens to enable live streaming of the ongoing activities. All major railway stations and mail/express trains in the country will also have WiFi facilities by September 2020.
